OCTOBER – “DELTA GHOSTS” SKYLER BROWN
In the exhibition “Delta Ghosts,” Skyler Brown portrays dark atmospheric scenes photographed in the world’s sunniest city.
For four months of the year, Sacramento has more hours of sunlight than any other city on earth. But in spite of the city’s near-constant sunlight, darkness abounds. Skyler’s work gives voice to this darkness in a series of haunting depictions of abandoned homes, shadowy figures, menacing trees, derelict ships, and forgotten railroads – all photographed in Sacramento and the surrounding area. Through images which are at once disquieting and beautiful, Skyler provides a unique glimpse into the shadows of earth’s sunniest city.
